Blooming Grove Academy embraces a holistic approach, focusing on the development of the whole child. The goal is to assist the child in achieving a balance in their educational development focusing on their strengths and interests as well as supporting and encouraging them in their weaker areas. We are very aware of and attentive to each child’s individual learning styles. But ultimately, the responsibility for learning is the students’. The teachers are facilitators.
There are many trademark practices that make BGA unique. We believe they contribute to the children’s academic and personal successes. We strive to strike a balance between the areas of academic, social and creative development. We believe each one supports the other. The social climate at Blooming Grove is also unique. This is achieved by small class sizes as well as our Positive Discipline approach to problem solving. It is our goal to ensure that each student feels a sense of belonging and has a voice in the decisions that are made about their individual education.
This is also reflected in the placement of students based on their needs and abilities rather than their birthdate. The opportunity to be in an environment that supports individual learning styles and independent learning is reflected in the nearly always above average standardized test scores each year.
Blooming Grove also strives to support parents in any way that we can.
That is why we offer a before and after school program for parents who need the extended day because of their work commitments. We also provide a holiday care option for parents who need a place for their children to be on days that school is not in session. We also offer a wonderful Summer Camp option that is packed full of activities and offers academic and recreational classes within its structure.
